Good News For 2024-25
There will be many new and exciting additions and changes at Havergal CE Primary Academy which we would like to share with you.
New Teacher in Year 3
We will be pleased to welcome a new teacher to the team from September in Year 3. Mr Evans comes with a love of PE and science and a wealth of experience. We are looking forward to seeing him in school before the end of the term, including the transition day, where he can meet his new class and get to know them.
New Teacher in Reception
We are also pleased to have secured Mrs Adams as our new Reception teacher. As most of you know, Mrs Adams has been a valued member of staff in our school for a number of years, gaining valuable experience in Early Years plus the rest of the school. She is a qualified teacher and knows our school community well. She will be replacing Mrs Daglish who will be our new Nursery teacher.
New Nursery Provision
Behind the scenes for over two years, we have been seeking approval for and planning to be able to provide a Nursery for three year olds at Havergal. It has been a difficult and time- consuming exercise with many challenges along the way. The DfE finally approved the provision in March this year which will enable us to open a Nursery in September. We have capacity for 21 full time places and already have many new Nursery children joining our school in September. We also have intakes in January and after Easter for those children who turn three the term before. We are delighted to announce this wonderful news at last!
New Classrooms
For many years, there have been plans to replace the current Year 6 classroom building at the rear of the academy. We are finally in a position to replace this building, thanks to funding from St Chad’s Academies Trust. We will soon be receiving a new building, comprising of 2 classrooms which will be on the site of the existing building which will be demolished. This new building will be for our Year 5 and 6 classes and will provide them with a wonderful environment and a new interactive touch screen in each classroom. This will be a great bonus for our school and will improve the learning environment for our children; another piece of long-awaited good news for our school!
Moving Forward
We will have many more new and exciting developments in the future and look forward to sharing the news with you and seeing these come to fruition. We would like thank you for your continued support.
