We are continuing our text for the term of 'The Diary of a Wimpy Kid.' This exciting and humorous comic novel is a popular choice amongst children, and tells the story of Greg Heffley as he navigates his way through his middle school.
We will be writing a setting description of a haunted house, and looking at creating our own comics inspired by the book.
Maths
This term we will be covering topics including decimals, measurement, perimeter and time. We will be consolidating our multiplication facts for all times tables up to and including 12x12. Please ensure you are practising on TTRockstars regularly at home!

Electricity
In this super practical unit we will be getting our electricity kits out to build circuits in a variety of ways. We will cover:
- Electrical appliances including main and battery powered
- How electricity is generated and renewable and non-renewable energy sources
- Electrical circuits including series circuits and complete circuits
- Electrical conductors and insulators
- The invention of electricity
- Switches and their suitable uses
History
The Vikings
In this exciting unit we will be learning about:
- Explaining when and where the Vikings came from and why they raided Britain
- What Danelaw and Danegeld were
- Identify and explain key aspects of Viking life
- Viking beliefs
- Explaining how the last Anglo-Saxon kings shaped Britain
French
Food
We will be continuing to learn the vocabulary for our topic 'Food' this half term. We will be looking at using the vocabulary for different foods in French and building up our conversation skills to ask what people like to eat. We will also be having our exciting French picnic to conclude our topic - yummy!
Art
Our art learning is based on Viking Portraits.
Children will practise drawing using tone, texture and perspective, to create their own realistic portrait of a Viking.
PSHE
Digital Wellbeing
Children will consider what we use the Internet for and the benefits and risks of online activities. Children will learn about screentime and getting a healthy balance between online and offline activities. They will learn about online relationships, including cyberbullying and online stranger danger. Privacy issues will be explored in terms of passwords, personal information and the sharing or forwarding of images and videos. Children will also learn about pressures and challenges that are often associated with social media.

PE
In Thursday's session we will be completing a dance unit. Pupils will gain inspiration from a range of stimuli, working individually, in pairs and small groups. Pupils think about how to use movement to explore and communicate ideas and issues, and their own feelings and thoughts, whilst developing confidence in performing. We will also be developing our passing, communication and team games skills in our Tag Rugby unit on Monday.
