Miss Taylor – Welcome to Havergal
Tue 07 Sep 2021Welcome to Havergal C of E Primary Academy website.
I am delighted to be the Executive Principal of such a welcoming and friendly academy.
I am proud to lead and support the children, staff and academy family through our new vision and values:
Vision – We aim to give all in our care the best possible start for life; laying down the foundations they will need to build resilient and happy lives filled with hope and aspiration for the future. This is achieved within a safe, loving, Christian environment where all are encouraged to flourish both academically and spiritually.
Values – Being a Church of England Academy we embrace the following Christian Values
- Politeness
- Friendship
- Creativity
- Compassion
- Honesty
- Stewardship
Here at Havergal, we are very proud of our values, Christian ethos, caring community, children and staff. Together we work hard to provide an exciting and interesting educational experience for all of our fantastic children.
We aim to enrich the understanding of our children in being part of a multi-cultural society, celebrating British values, diversity and equality. British values are embedded in the life of our academy. They are actively promoted through spiritual, moral, social and cultural education and form a part of our distinctive Christian character. We value and welcome all faiths and non-faith because we value and respect all God’s children and their families. In our Church Academy Inspection, called SIAMS, we were graded as good.
The members of the Local Academy Committee (LAC) and staff have high expectations of our children, regardless of their ability, and are committed to providing a high quality education for all.
We are also part of the family of St Chad’s Academies Trust who work with us on our journey to excellence through effective challenge and support.
We aim to ensure that our children are inspired and make good progress by feeling safe, happy, valued, resilient, confident and enthusiastic about their learning experiences. We also believe that success is measured not only academically, but personally, socially and spiritually. High self-esteem is encouraged, high expectations, standards and values are fostered and progress and achievement are positively monitored and celebrated. Nurturing each child’s uniqueness and responding to their individual needs matters here at Havergal.
Our relationship with our families is very important to us and we welcome parents/carers feedback. We believe children and parents/carers views matter and make a difference.
Our website will provide you with information about our academy, but please don’t hesitate to contact us should you require further information.
You are very welcome to visit in person; please contact the academy by email or telephone to make an appointment by contacting Mrs Grainger in our office at office@havergal.org.uk or 01922 415342. Visits to our academy are strongly encouraged and a very warm welcome awaits you.

Updated Covid Guidelines
Wed 01 Sep 2021When to self-isolate and what to do
- Child
When to self-isolate
Your child must not come to school, self-isolate straight away and get a PCR test (a test that is sent to the lab) on GOV.UK as soon as possible if they have any of these 3 symptoms of COVID-19, even if they are mild:
- a high temperature
- a new, continuous cough
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
If a parent/carer/sibling a child lives with has symptoms of COVID-19, or has tested positive for COVID-19, your child will not need to self-isolate.
Instead, even if your child does not have symptoms, you should still do the following:
- get them a PCR test on GOV.UK to check if they have COVID-19
- follow advice on how to avoid catching and spreading COVID-19
- consider limiting contact with people who are at higher risk from COVID-19
- Adult in your house
When to self-isolate

When you do not need to self-isolate
If someone you live with has symptoms of COVID-19, or has tested positive for COVID-19, you will not need to self-isolate if any of the following apply:
