KS1 Languages
Progression Year by Year
Cross themes: – Classroom commands, Storytelling, cultural events, theme days, displays, assemblies
Expected Outcomes for end of Year:
For each language, encourage children to:
- Understand and be able to say hello and goodbye.
- Count to 5.
- Give their name.
- Understand where the country is where the language is spoken.
- Recognise similarities and differences between life in Britain and other countries.
- Learn about at least one aspect of culture, e.g. food, a song, a poem, story etc.
