Year 2 Home Learning Support

Hello Year 2 ! We hope you are keeping safe and well. This is just a message from Mrs. Brooks and Miss. Hall  to remind you of some of the things you could be doing at home to keep busy and keep learning lots!

We  hope you are working through your learning packs that includes lots of English, Maths and SPAG.  There are also practical ideas and a list of useful websites for you to use.

 

Suggested Home Learning Timetable:

9:00 -9:30   P.E

Joe Wicks, GoNoodle, Cosmic Yoga. There are also lots of great dance, yoga and warm-up activities on You Tube you can try.

9: 30- 10: 30 Maths Activities

12:00 – 1:00 Brain break and lunch

1:00- 1:30 Quiet reading and spelling activities ( try Purple Mash, Phonics Play)

1: 30 – 3: 15 A choice of Science, History, Geography, R.E, Art or D.T or  computing

 

Ideas……

Science- Can you draw and label parts of a plant? What job does each part of the plant do?

Look at how plants grow ( including bulbs) and what parts of the plant we eat.

History- Research Neil Armstrong’s journey to the moon. Who was Robert Falcon Scott and where did he explore?

D.T- Design a heathy snack. Design a space buggy for Neil Armstrong to take to the moon.

Find out about different food groups, healthy eating and a balanced diet.

I will add ideas for activities each week and set To-Do’s on Purple Mash so keep an eye out for new information!

Art- Can you create a picture in the style of Guiseppe Arcimboldo? Make fruit faces!

Don’t forget to record all of your exciting Home Learning in the book you were provided with and read as much as  you can  ( try at least 15 minutes a day!)
